ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan on Thursday agreed to take up the issue of army deployment at polling stations in Karachi in the upcoming general elections with Defence Secretary, keeping in view precarious law and order situation in the port city.
Addressing a news conference after meeting with representatives of political parties, ECP Secretary Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan said that political parties had apprised him of their reservations since they were not satisfied with the ongoing voter verification process in Karachi.
He reiterated that every ruling of the Supreme Court would be implemented. Dispelling speculations about delay in election; he said there was no room for any such move.
