SC moved against ECP potential dissolution

LAHORE: An application has been filed against potential dissolution of the Election Commission of Pakistan in the Lahore registry of the Supreme Court.

Applicant Zaffarullah Khan contended that a plea moved by Dr Tahirul Qadri for reconstitution of the electoral body be dismissed since the commission’s formation was as per article 213 and 218 of the Constitution.

He also prayed to the court to take notice of what he said PTI and Qadri’s efforts aimed at delaying the upcoming general election.
