ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Monday allowed Islamabad police a week's time to submit report on investigation into the case of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigator Kamran Faisal's death.

A two-member bench, headed by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja conducted the hearing of the case which involves a mysterious death of Kamran Faisal, a NAB investigator working with an investigation team tasked to probe the multi billion dollar RPPs scam. He was found hanging from a ceiling fan of his residence in the Federal Lodges on January 17.

SSP Islamabad Police, Yasin Farooq told the court that the forensics report into the case was still awaited and, therefore, more time was needed to prepare the progress report in question.

As a result, the court allowed the police additional time of one week to chalk out the report.

The court also exempted the medical team that conducted the post-mortem on Kamran Faisal's body, saying if needed the team may be summoned to the court.

Later, the hearing was adjourned till February 19.
