ISLAMABAD: The three-member commission, instituted to probe unlawful loan writeoffs from different banks since 1972, produced its final report in the Supreme Court here on Wednesday, Geo News reported.

The commission, headed by Syed Jamshaid Ali Shah, a former judge of the Supreme Court, handed over 20 sealed/locked iron boxes to the apex court.

A three-member bench comprising Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Sh Azmat Saeed resumed hearing of the suo moto case regarding the loans, which were written off from 1972 to 2011 and announced to make the report public.

On the directives of CJ Chaudhry, the first box was opened and the first three volumes of the report were taken out for discussion.

Later, the hearing was adjourned for three weeks.
