ISLAMABAD: The Governor of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Thursday warned all the defaulting lawmakers to settle their matters with the banks before February 25, Geo News reported.
“The central bank will submit a final report on bank defaulters by February 26, thus they better clear all their debts a day earlier”, Yasin Anwar said while briefing the Senate's Standing Committee on Finance here.
Defaulters' lists had been prepared already, said Governor SBP.
Replying to a question, he clarified the loans of only those whose areas had been declared calamity-hit were written off.
"Those whose loans were cancelled owing to floods/earthquakes are not defaulters", said Anwar.
To another question, he said a defaulter was a defaulter whether he owed to a commercial bank or the state bank.
