DUBAI: Pakistan’s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has refused to meet the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) team who called on him to submit Tauqir Sadiq’s deportation documents.

According to sources, when the NAB team arrived at the Pakistani embassy, the ambassador refused to meet them. Sources from the embassy stated that the team did not have attested documents. The documents were to be attested by the UAE embassy.

Former OGRA chairman Tauqir Sadiq is wanted by the Supreme Court in an Rs 83 billion corruption case. Sadiq had fled to Dubai after allegations of embezzlement during his tenure as the chairman were brought to light and his appointment was declared null and void.

The Supreme Court had directed authorities to seek Sadiq’s deportation from the UAE.
