ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said Pakistan would ask the Interpol for handing over of Taliban leader Maulvi Faqir Muhammad from Afghanistan.

Talking to the media here on Saturday‚ Malik said Maulvi Faqir Muhammad arrested by the Afghan authorities is wanted in various cases in Pakistan.

He said we want his deportation to Pakistan so that action could be initiated against him in accordance with the law.

Responding to a question about the dialogue offer of the Taliban‚ Rehman Malik said that the Taliban will have to demonstrate seriousness for talks by surrendering their weapons before the negotiations.

The Interior Minister said the government and the opposition would reach an agreement on the composition of the interim set-up.
