ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Tuesday that Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamat (ASWJ) leader Maulana Ahmed Ludhianvi told him that his party had no links with the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LJ).

Speaking to media outside the Parliament House, the minister said that the cleric should announce his disassociation from the LJ at Islamabad’s D-Chowk.

He said that the Punjab government had taken no action against 734 LJ members despite the federal government sent letters in this regard.

The minister requested the court to summon Punjab chief minister and seek clarification.
