Free dialysis treatment at major Khyber Pakhtunkhwa hospitals

PESHAWAR: Free dialysis treatment will be provided to underprivileged patients in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The free dialysis program was inaugurated by the provinces health minister, Syed Tahir Ali Shah and the Hayatabad Medical Complex. During the inauguration, Shah announced that free treatment would be provided to patients who could not bear the cost.

Dialysis treatment approximately costs Rs150, 000 and several lives are lost due to financial inability to pay for the treatment. According to statics, at least 30-35 people die annually in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from liver diseases.
