ISLAMABAD: A quake of magnitude 5.4 on the Richter scale was shook up Chitral, Swat and adjoining districts on Monday morning, Geo News reported.

The jolts were felt in Chitral, Shanghla, Boner, Ghazar, and Malakand Agency.

According to Meteorological Department, the tremors struck the above mentioned northern areas in the wee hours of Monday.

The epicenter of the quake was about 207 kilometers deep in Hindu Kush Mountain Range (Afghanistan).
