Urs of Hazrat Shah Ruknuddin Aalam begins

MULTAN: The 699th Urs celebrations of great saint of the sub-continent Hazrat Shah Ruknuddin Aalam began here on Monday.

Vice Chairman Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI) Mukhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Sajada Nasheen (spiritual head) of the shrine gave bath to the grave of Shah Ruknuddin Aalam with Arq-e-Gulab (rose water).

Addressing on the occasion, Mukhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi paid a tribute to saint Hazrat Shah Ruknuddin Aalam. He stressed the need for dissemination the teachings of great saint to promote peace, unity and stability in the country.

He urged the people to follow the saint's teachings in order to end feelings of hatred, sectarianism, extremism and terrorism. Qureshi also expressed concern over terrorists attacks in Quetta and Abbas Town.

Qureshi thanked the district administration for making best arrangements for the Urs in order to facilitate the devotees.

Provincial minister for Auqaf Haji Ehsanuddin Qureshi, Mukhdoom Mureed Hussain Qureshi and thousands of devotees from across the Sind were also present.
