ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will allot election symbols to the political parties Tuesday (today) for the upcoming general elections.

The ECP has invited to its office representatives of 136 political parties which had applied for allotment of symbols to participate in the upcoming polls. The Commission will allot the symbols to the parties in their presence tomorrow.

In case more parties applied for the same symbol, the ECP will allot it to the party which had contested the last elections using that symbol.

If more than one party applied for a same new symbol then the decision will be made through a draw.

The ECP has also invited those parties which had applied for ‘Pakistan People’s Party’ as its party name.
