PESHAWAR: The nomination of Justice (retd) Tariq Pervez as caretaker chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been challenged in Peshawar High Court (PHC), Geo News reported.

Senior lawyer Muhibullah Kakakhel filed a petition in the court in which he contended that under article 207 of the constitution, the former justice could not become a caretaker chief minister as a government official could not hold public office for two years after retirement.

The petitioner appealed the court to hear this case before 5:00PM today (Wednesday).
