KARACHI: Following the Supreme Court orders to arrest killers of a notorious gangster Arshad Papppu, heavy contingent of police entered parts of Lyari in a late night move in the restive neighborhood, Geo News reported.
Though the police arrested 18 suspects including a close relative of Abdur Rehman Dacoit, most wanted accused Noor Muhammad aka Ladla and Jabbar aka Jheengo were still at large.
The police entered Lyari through Gul Muhammad Lane, Nayaabad and Lee Market and carried out search operation in different areas.
In what was seen as a cosmetic move following the apex court orders, police arrested eight people during a raid at Afshani Street. A raid was also conducted at the Dadal House during the operation, which lasted for over three hours. According to Geo News, the Pakistan Rangers were not present during the police action.
The police said they conducted a raid at the Dadal House, arresting Uzair Kamran aka Kami, a close relative of Rehman Baloch.
