KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader, Faisal Subzwari, Saturday said the new delimitation of constituencies in Karachi that too just 48 days before the general election is injustice to the residents as well as a blow to the party’s mandate.
Talking to media outside the Provincial Election Commission Office, here on Saturday, he said the new delimitation should be done in the whole country and not only in Karachi.
He claimed the move was unconstitutional and unlawful
“We will not accept them”, said Sabzwari unequivocally.
A large number of MQM workers carrying placards and banners inscribed with different slogans were also present outside the provincial ECP.
Sabzwari said, “We are law abiding people, but we will not accept any unlawful act”.
He demanded of the ECP to withdraw the decision, adding that MQM would challenge it in Supreme Court at a suitable time.
Earlier, MQM leaders Babar Khan Ghauri, Faisal Subzwari and others met with Provincial Election Commissioner Mehboob Anwar at his office and conveyed their reservations over the new delimitation of constituencies.
