Last day for committee to select Punjab caretaker CM

LAHORE: Provincial parliamentary committee has only one day remaining to reach consensus over selection of caretaker Chief Minister, else the matter would go to the Election Commission.

The committee would deliberate on four nominees. PML-N had named Justice (retd) Aamir Raza Khan and former bureaucrat Khwaja Zaheer while the opposition had proposed Justice (retd) Zahid Hussain and senior journalist Najam Sethi.

Meanwhile, an opposition member in the parliamentary committee Chaudhary Zaheeruddin said that the committee would likely to hold conclusive talks today.
