Nawaz says party tickets on merit

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif has said that his party would issue tickets to the aspirants for national and provincial seats purely on merit, Geo News reported.

Addressing the PML-N parliamentary board here Wednesday, Nawaz said by the grace of Allah Pakistani people have learnt a lesson to live like civilized nations, adding the elected government completed its tenure without any kind of 'umbrella'.

The PML-N president said putting hurdles in the way of democracy to flourish is no less than a national crime.

Nawaz Sharif welcomed decision of Sardar Akhtar Mengal to participate in the upcoming elections.
