Qamar Zaman refuses to be Punjab Chief Secretary

ISLAMABAD: Secretary Education Major (retd) Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has voluntarily refused to assume charge of Chief Secretary Punjab, Geo News reported.

Qamar Zaman said Saturday any person better than him could become chief secretary of Punjab.

It may be noted here that Election Commission of Pakistan had recommended Qamar Zaman Chaudhry for the post of CS Punjab.

Qamar had served as Home Secretary in PPP tenure and ADC of General Ziaul Haq.

He is considered very close to Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif also.
