Election runners can clear power dues on weekend: WAPDA

LAHORE: On the behest of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) the offices of all power distribution companies would remain open on Saturday and Sunday (March 30 & 31) to facilitate election runners in clearing their electricity dues, Geo News reported.

According to Water & Power Development Authority (WAPDA) spokesman, Rana Abid, Federal Secretary Water and Power, Sikandar Ahmed Rai and Chairman WAPDA Syed Raghib Abbas Shah have issued orders in this regard.

An official notification issued here Saturday said the weekly holidays had been cancelled and the respective staffers of the power utilities would attend the offices to collect the outstanding dues from the defaulters.
