SC hears suo moto case of 54 MPs’ fake degrees today

ISLAMABAD: A three-member bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan would hear a suo moto notice of media reports regarding fake degrees of 54 parliamentarians today (Monday).

According to the media reports, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in its report had declared the degrees of 54 former parliamentarians as fake. It said that 189 parliamentarians had not got their degrees verified from the HEC while cases of 19 more parliamentarians were pending in lower courts.

The chief justice taking notice of the media reports sought reports from ECP and HEC.
