LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Monday took up a case pertaining to implementation of articles 62, 63 of the Constitution.
During the hearing, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah directed that the court be informed about defaulters and those whose nomination papers had been rejected by the Returning Officers and on which ground.
The bench also sought record regarding postings and appointments from January 33 to March 16.
He remarked that transfers had been carried out despite ban while the Election Commission sat silently after issuing notification in this regard.
The judge asked as to why constitutional powers were not being used by the electoral body. “Should we allow violators of law to enter assemblies,” he remarked.
The court also sought record of nomination papers submitted across Punjab before it adjourned the hearing till Tuesday.
