QUETTA: Ameer Jamat e Islami (JI) Syed Munawwer Hasan has said that the caretaker government should provide favorable environment for holding forthcoming elections.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, the JI chief demanded caretaker government, army chief and political parties to take every possible step to ensure holding of elections.

Munawar said that caretaker Interior Minister should take concrete steps to ensure peaceful elections instead of frightening people, adding that the interim minister should refrain himself from issuing statements that may stop people to come to polling stations.

Apprehensions of Balochistan nationalists regarding general elections must be removed, Ameer Jamaat e Islami said.

He further said that if interference of agencies ends in Karachi and Hyderabad then fair and free elections would be possibly conducted, however, he added that Fakhruddin G Ibrahim has not made the court's verdict implemented regarding delimitations in Karachi.
