KARACHI: Scores of alleged miscreants were detained in a targeted crackdown in different troubled localities of Lyari, an area which houses Karachi's most dangerous criminal gangs, Geo News reported.

According to sources, Rangers, who carried out the surgical operation, swooped only upon the marked targets following solid leads they received from their informants.

According to sources, in one such area, the paramilitary troops made a beeline for the offices of two political parties and left no occupant un-detained.

The raids were conducted in Purana Kumhar, Warda, Jumman Shah Plot, Ghulam Shah Line, Chakiwarda, and adjoining areas.

Rangers also took action in certain areas of Patel Parda on Jehangir Road.

Arrested accused have been moved to unidentified locations for investigations.
