ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and journalist Ayaz Amir has been allowed to contest elections after an election tribunal overturned the decision of the Returning Officer to reject his nomination papers.

Amir’s nomination papers for NA-60 were rejected during the scrutiny phase for writing columns which were alleged to be against the ideology of Pakistan.

Speaking to media, Amir said his case was different from that of other candidates, adding that he had given his personal opinion in a column on the basis of which his nomination papers were rejected.
