ECP displeased over Interior Minister’s statement

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has expressed its displeasure over the media statement of caretaker Interior Minister in which he appeared to be partial towards a political personality.

According to sources, Secretary ECP Ishtiaq Ahmed has written a letter to the caretaker Prime Minister, telling him that such statements could compromise the transparency of the upcoming polls.

The letter asked the Prime Minister to ensure impartiality of the ministers.

It may be mentioned here that the caretaker Interior Minister Malik Habib, in a recent statement covered by the media, appeared to have a favorable opinion of Pakistan Muslim League-N President Nawaz Sharif.
