LAHORE: Former MNA, Jamshed Dasti, whose conviction in the fake degree case was overturned by LHC Multan bench will be released Thursday as his sentence also stands suspended, Geo News reported.

Dasti was convicted by a district and sessions judge last week for having a fake degree.

He was sentenced to three years in prison along with a fine of Rs5,000.

Dasti was also disqualified from contesting the upcoming polls.

It is unclear whether he will contest the upcoming elections as the election tribunal is yet to decide his appeal.
