ISLAMABAD: Election Commission Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday presented its report in the Supreme Court on vote of right to overseas Pakistanis, Geo News reported.

In its report, the ECP pointed out multiple hurdles in providing vote facility to the Pakistanis leaving abroad.

In the first phase, ECP said, overseas Pakistanis have to register themselves in their respective embassies. It said over 2.9 million Pakistanis live in UAE and Saudi Arabia, of them 1 million people do not have Machine Readable Passports (MRPs).

ECP report further says much time is required to take measures for polling staff. They have yet not get permission from the respective governments for polling as well.
