ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has taken suo moto notice of unprecedented security arrangements for the former prime ministers Raja Pervez Ashraf and Yousuf Raza Gilani, former interior minister Rehman Malik, former Sindh chief minister Qaimi Ali Shah and speaker and deputy speakers of the Sindh Assembly, Geo News reported.
Taking notice of the media reports regarding Raja Pervez Musharraf's orders to approve unprecedented security arrangements on the last day of the National Assembly and Sindh Assembly’s approval of rare security for Rehman Malik and former interior ministers hours before its expiry date, the chief justice has sought reply till April 16.
Notices have been issued to both the former prime ministers, Rehman Malik, Qaim Ali Shah, Attorney Genera, Sindh Advocate General and the Inspector General Sindh police.
The Supreme Court has also sought notifications and other details relating to the approval of security arrangements.
