KARACHI: Additional Inspector General Police (AIG), Shabir Shaikh has stated that 50 percent polling stations in Karachi are sensitive, Geo News reported Monday.
Talking to Geo News during a seminar at a local hotel, Shaikh said a total of 3700 to 4000 polling stations would be set up in the metropolis and that 50 percent of them are sensitive.
Shabir Shaikh said all the polling stations of district west are sensitive.
He said police and Rangers would be deployed at polling stations in the city, however, army could also be called to deal with any untoward incident.
The AIG further said ‘a list of sensitive polling stations has been prepared and help from retired police officers and personnel will also be put to use. Private security firms will also be contacted in this regard’.
