PESHAWAR: Declaring Jamat-e-Islami's (JI) holding an election meeting in a mosque a violation of electoral code of conduct, Awami National Party (ANP) Thursday urged Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take notice of this breach, Geo News reported on Thursday.

Talking to Geo News, an ANP spokesman, Malik Ghulam Mustafa, said that JI had violated the electoral code of conduct while canvassing in Speen Jumat area here.

Declaring electoral meetings in mosques as unethical, he said that a mosque was a place of worship, which should not be politicized.

Mustafa further said that according to ECP's code of conduct, electoral activities in mosques were banned.
