RAWALPINDI: Air Chief Marshal Mark Donald Binskin, Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Australia, called on General Rashad Mahmood, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) on Tuesday.
The meeting marks the beginning of the 7th round of defence and security talks and the 4th round of Pakistan – Australia 1.5 Track Security Dialogue in which matters related to security and mutual cooperation were discussed.
Note: Track 1.5 is derived from the Track-I and Track-II form of diplomacy which were coined in 1981 by Joseph Montville at the US State Department. Track-I involves only official government level contacts, while Track-II involves non-governmental, informal and unofficial contacts. Track 1.5 has been used by analysts to describe diplomatic contacts and cooperation involving official and non-official actors.
