KARACHI: Legendary cricketers from national and international Cricket including Javed Miandad, Waqar Younis, Alan Donald, Abdul Qadir, Michael Bevan and John Buchanan have been included in the coaches’ draft for the Pakistan Super League.
The list, sent to all teams for the final selection of coaching staff, was obtained exclusively by Geo News. The list mentions 116 names for Head Coach, Coaches, Assistant coaches, Fitness trainers, Physiotherapists, Analysts and Training Assistants.
31 names available for the head coach’s seat includes Australia’s World cup winning coach John Buchanan. Head coach of Pakistan Cricket team Waqar Younis, former head coaches Moin Khan and Javed Miandad are also included in the list of head coaches for the PSL.
Other prominent names available for the position of head coach include Micky Arthur, Alan Donalnd, Robin Singh, Venkatesh Prasad, Graham Ford, Andy Flower, Grant Flower, Abdul Qadir, Tom Moody, Simon Katich and Marwan Atapattu.
Chief selector Haroon Rasheed, former Pakistan captain Aamir Sohail, Rawalpindi express Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Yousuf and former head coach NCA Mohammad Akram are made available for PSL under head of coaches and assistant coaches.
67 names mentioned under coaches and assistant coaches for the PSL also includes Desmond Haynes, Dirk Nannes, James Foster, Dean Jones, Lance Klusener, Gordon Greenidge, Ian Pont, Julien Fountain, Sanath Jayasuriya, Chaminda Vaas, Rashid Latif, Mohammad Waseem, Tausif Ahmad, Kabir Khan, Shoaib Mohammad and Jon Lewis.
Among the names for physiotherapists, there’s one female, Maryam Payak, who’s a sports physiotherapist from India.
Salary cap set for the head coach is from $45,000 from $60,000 per season. Coaches and assistant coaches will be paid between $25,000 to $40,000 salary per season.
