Karachi: 42 suspects detained during targeted operation

KARACHI: Police carried out targeted operation in various areas of the metropolis, detaining 42 accused and recovering weapons and explosive material from their possession, Geo news reported.

According to SSP West Asif Ijaz, the police carried out raid at Frontier Colony and apprehended 15 suspects from the area. A car carrying explosives, TT pistols and kalashnikovs was also seized in the raid.

SSP East Imran Shaukat said that seven suspects were held during targeted operation in various areas of Landhi. Kalashnikov, riffle, 3 TT pistols and bullets were recovered. The police also seized explosive-laden bike during the operation in Landhi, he added.

Ten suspects were detained from Machar Colony area of Sohrab Goth for their alleged affiliation with a banned outfit.

In Musharraf Colony, ten suspects were also rounded up in a targeted operation. Weapons and American-made six hand grenades were also recovered during the operation.
