Public mandate being hijacked by means of guns, bombs: Altaf

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has welcomed Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani’s statement, Geo News reported.

In a statement issued from London, Altaf Hussain said wise stance of army chief, on sensitive matters, raised the head of nation with pride.

Altaf said non-state actors were targeting moderate and enlightened parties, adding state seemed helpless before them. He said the public mandate was being hijacked by means of guns and bombs.

He said attempts were being made to deprive masses of their democratic right.
