LAHORE: Home Minister Punjab Tariq Pervaiz on Wednesday said that around 0.265 million cops would be deployed across Punjab as security measure during Elections 2013, Geo News reported.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday at the Commissioner Office Lahore, Pervaiz briefed the mediamen about the steps taken to ensure security.

He said that about 31,000 policemen and at least 30 companies of Army will be deployed in Lahore on May 11.

He told the press that there where cameras would be installed in the sensitive polling stations, adding troops would be deployed at every polling station.

He further said that caretaker government would keep an eye on the activities of proclaimed offenders along with snap-checking of people and vehicles.

Meanwhile, a meeting for reviewing law and order situation during elections in Punjab was held in Corps Commander House Lahore, in which the security arrangements for 24,235 sensitive polling stations were finalized.

The meeting decided that units of Army and Rangers would conduct flag marches in the areas of sensitive polling stations.
