KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) has dismissed two petitions seeking re-polling across Karachi over rigging claims.
Social activist Iqbal Qazmi filed had filed petition in the SHC in which he contended that rigging was carried out in massive level while people were also abducted on polling day.
He prey the court to declare the election in Karachi as null and void and also order re-polling under supervision of Pakistan army and CCTV cameras.
Another petition was filed by Maulvi Iqbal Haider. The petitioner contended that only electoral petition could be filed following the electoral process and its results. He further said that under the constitution, re-election could not be held across the city but it can only be conducted where polling process was affected.
The SHC rejecting the petitions directed the petitioners to contact Election Tribunal.
