LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly session has been convened on May 29 and the newly elected member provincial assembly will take oath on the same day, Geo News reported.

On the second day of the session speaker, deputy speaker of the assembly besides leader of the house/chief minister will be elected.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has achieved majority in the provincial assembly with 240 seats followed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) with 20 seats in elections 2013.

Secretary Punjab Assembly, Maqsood Ahmed said it was the constitutional need to convene the assembly session within 21 days after elections, therefore, it was vital to call it before June 01.

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will also issued notification of the MPAs elect.
