NAUDERO: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah pledged on Saturday restoring peace in the province at any cost being first priority of his government.
"We will restore peace from Karachi to Kashmore and are prepared to pay any cost for it," he said while talking to media after offering Fateha at the graves of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto at Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto on his first visit here after taking over as Chief Minister for third time.
Qaim Ali Shah said President Asif Ali Zardari's suggestions would also be sought for maintaining law and order in the province.
He said PPP is grateful to the people of Sindh who again voted it to power. "The 10-party alliance and other parties tried their best to defeat PPP but people of Sindh foiled their plans," he added.
Qaim Ali Shah was confident that PPP would complete 5-year tenure this time also. "The PPP government would have same priorities like health, education, employment etc.
He said PPP has accepted the mandate of people given to PML-N and they have reciprocated in Sindh. "We would continue policy of reconciliation instead of creating conflicting situation.
Chief Minister hoped that PML-N government at federal level would act as per 18th amendment of Constitution and also implement the National Finance Commission Award signed by all the four chief ministers including Shahbaz Sharif of Punjab.
Speaker, Sindh assembly Agha Siraj Durani and cabinet members accompanied the Chief Minister.
