Mehtab Abbasi likely to be made KP Governor

PESHAWAR: Parliamentary leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly and former Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Mehtab Abbasi is likely to be made Governor of the province, sources said.

According to the PML-N sources, chief of the party Nawaz Sharif has given the green signal to designate Mr. Abbasi as Governor KP.

The sources further added that N-League leaders were consulted on the issue and names of party’s senior leaders Ameer Muqam and Iqbal Zafar Jhagra were also considered for the slot, however, Mr. Sharif expressed his wish to post Abbasi as Governor of KP.

If Mr. Abbasi becomes the governor of the province then Wajeeh uz Zaman would be appointed as the parliamentary leader of PML-N in KP legislature, the sources added.
