NA secretariat accepts nomination papers for speaker, deputy

ISLAMABAD: Secretary National Assembly has accepted the nomination papers of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) candidate Sardar Ayaz Sadiq for the Speaker National Assembly while Murtaza Javed Abbasi for the Deputy Speaker.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq won National Assembly seat from NA-122 Lahore while Murtaza Javed Abbasi from NA-18 Abbottabad.

Nomination papers of Sheryar Afridi of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) for the Speaker and Munazza Hasan for Deputy Speaker have been also been accepted by the Secretary National Assembly.

Talking to media‚ PML-N’s Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said if elected as speaker he will maintain impartiality while running the business of house.

Nomination papers of MQM parliamentarians S A Iqbal Qadri and Kishwar Zehra for the positions of speaker and deputy speaker have been accepted.

NA secretariat also approved nomination papers of Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Yousuf Talpur and Ghulam Rasool Koreja.
