MULTAN: As many as five soldiers of the Pakistan Army were killed and six others injured when an oil tanker collided with their vehicle, Geo News reported Thursday.

According to police, a speeding oil tanker collided with an army vehicle on Sher Shah Road on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, killing three soldiers and injuring eight others.

The dead and injured were taken to Combined Military Hospital for treatment where two more personnel succumbed to their wounds. Four of the dead were identified as Allah Rakha Muhammad Hafeez, Saqib and Muhammad Gul.

The police have arrested driver and cleaner of the oil tanker and registered a case. The vehicle was also impounded.
