LRH Assistant Professor narrowly escapes bid on life

PESHAWAR: Assistant Professor of Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) Dr Shakir narrowly escaped an attempt on his life here in the wee hours of Tuesday.

According to the police, unidentified assailants opened fire at the car of Dr Shakir, resultantly the driver lost his life while brother of the LRH Assistant Professor sustained injuries.

Police said that the incident took place near Dabgari area when the LRH Assistant Professor was heading to his home. Fortunately, he remained unhurt.

Police further said that the two attackers were wearing police uniform. One of the attackers also got killed in retaliation, the police added.
