ISLAMABAD: The federal government Wednesday removed Shafqat Jalil as press secretary to prime minister (PM) with immediate effect, Geo News reported.

According to sources, he has been directed to report to Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.

Furthermore, the additional press secretary to PM, Rao Liaquat, was also told to leave his office and report information ministry, sources added.

Sources added that the names of some Grade 20-21 functionaries, including senior officers of information group Saeed Khan and Qamar Bashir, were under review for the slots lying vacant after removal of aforementioned officers.
