No one is above law: Ashfaq Sarwer

LAHORE: General Secretary Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMl-N) Punjab chapter Raja Ashfaq Sarwer Thursday claimed that nobody was above the law that was why his party issued show cause notice to its MPA Nighat Shaikh and suspended her basic membership of the party, Geo News reported.

Talking to newsmen here outside Punjab Assembly, Sarwer said that given the prevailing circumstances the country cannot afford to commit mistakes, adding that a show cause notice has been issued to Nighat Shaikh and the leadership would take a final decision in this regard in the light of her reply.

He further said that Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has ordered an inquiry into the incident that led to the suspension of Nighat Shaikhs membership.

It is pertinent to mention here that Nighat Shaikh, one of the MPAs of PML-N, had misbehaved with a bus hostess on June 18, prompting her party’s leadership to take action against her.
