Armed clash injures one near Karachi airport

KARACHI: An armed clash between two groups took place near Karachi airport, injuring one person in the wee hours of Friday.

The incident between a political party and a gang war group took place on Shahra e Faisal near Star Gate and Al Falah areas. More contingent of police personnel were called at the site of the incident after which the firing stopped.

The shooting lasted for more than half an hour, triggering tension in the area.

According to SSP East Imran Shaukat, the police have kicked off search operation in the area after putting the security cordon.

A 40-year old man, identified as Nasir Mehmood, sustained injuries as a result of the incident.
