PM Nawaz Sharif takes notice of Lyari evacuation

ISLAMABAD: Taking notice of deteriorating law and order situation in Lyari area of Karachi, where gangland war prompted evacuation of people this month, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed Interior Secretary and Intelligence Bureau Director General to reach Karachi forthwith.

The prime minister ordered the aforesaid officials to have meetings with provincial authorities and other stakeholders to cope with the situation.

A large number of people belonging to Lyari have taken shelter in Thatta and Badin due to worsening law and order situation in the restive neighborhood.
