QUETTA: Polling is currently underway in the Balochistan Assembly for two vacant Senate seats Thursday, Geo News reported.
Three candidates are contesting for the senate seats.
Balochistan Provincial Election Commissioner, Syed Sultan Bayazid told Geo News that the polling will be held from 9:00 am in the morning until 4:00 pm today in the provincial assembly.
Pakistan Muslim League’s (PML-N) Sardar Yaqoob Khan Nasir, Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party’s (PKMAP) Abdul Rauf and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam’s (JUI) Haji Wali Mohammad are the contestants for the two Senate seats.
It is expected that 62 members of the Balochistan Assembly will cast their votes for the two Senate seats that fell vacant after Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani resigned and due to Maulana Muhammad Khan Shirani got elected as the member national assembly.
