Local body polls: ECP despatches letters to provinces

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has dispatched separate letters to the concerned provinces containing instructions to comply with in connection with the holding of local bodies elections.

According to ECP sources, the commission has directed the provinces to adopt a uniform mechanism for holding the local bodies’ polls.

The letters instructed to formulate uniform legislation for the said polls besides maintaining similarity in the mechanism adopted for the purpose to ensure simultaneous holding of by-elections across the country.
