ISLAMABAD: The spate of torrential rain with thunder and lighting continued lashing upper Punjab, Khyber Pukhtunkhaw and Kashmir. Saidpur received 217 millimeter of rain, while Lahore, Gujranawala, Sialkot and some other places recorded more than 100mm, Geo News reported on Sunday.

Sources said that the weather in Gujranawala, Lahore and Mardan have turned pleasant after the rain spell.

Met Department has forecast the rain spell in Kashmir, Punjab including Islamabad, Khyber Pukhtunkhaw and Gilgit Baltistan is expected to continue until Monday.

Low lying areas in Gujranawala and adjoining areas have been inundated with the torrential rainwater causing great civic problems for the citizens, sources said.

Some localities in Islamabad, Lahore, Bannu, Hazara Division, and Kashmir, while few places of Hyderabad and Karachi Division likely to receive stormy rains with thunder and lighting. Maximum of 110mmm rain was recorded in Sialkot during the last 24 hours.
