Police officer Fayyaz Sumbal laid to rest

LAHORE: DIG Fayyaz Sumbal who was martyred during a suicide attack in Quetta was laid to rest here on Friday.

Sumbal’s body was brought back to Lahore and his funeral was held at the Elite Training School. The funeral was attended by IGP Punjab, provincial ministers and police officers. Speaking to the media after the funeral, IGP Punjab said the fight against terrorists would continue until they were defeated.

At least 38 people, including 21 police officials were killed and 40 others injured in a suicide blast at a funeral in the Police Lines in Quetta on Thursday.
